first baptist camden welcomes

Dr. Rusty Shuler and Angela

Dr. Rusty Shuler will be installed as First Baptist Camden’s new full time Senior Pastor August 8 at 10:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary.

Dr. Emil Turner, former Interim Pastor of First Baptist, will lead the installation ceremony. Immediately following, Dr. Shuler will address the church as the church’s new pastor.  This service is open to anyone in the community who would like to attend.

Dr. Shuler was selected by the church following an extensive search process led by an elected committee of church members.  He and his wife Angela are coming to Camden from Eastwood Baptist Church in Bossier City, Louisiana where he served as pastor.

Having over 25 years’ experience as a senior pastor, Dr. Shuler has served churches in Kansas, Georgia, Texas, and Louisiana. In addition, he has been involved in multiple mission endeavors overseas and has extensive church leadership experience and training.

“We are so excited to have Pastor Rusty and Angela joining the team at First Baptist,” said Rev. Phillip Gerrald, Associate Pastor. “God is doing immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine because He is at work within us. We look forward to our future under Pastor Rusty’s leadership.”

Located at 1201 Broad Street, the church sanctuary will be open for this August 8 service which will also be simulcast on the church’s website (firstbaptistcamden.org) and the church’s Facebook page.
